Exercise: Walking/Jogging, push ups, plank, stretching, wall sit
Description: Started out with the warm ups which included the plank, push ups, and stretching, Left the house to walk and jog my usual route.

Duration and distance: 2.31 miles in 40:22 minutes. The pre-workout was about 20 minutes as I'm trying to hold my planks and wall sits a few seconds longer each time. It's going to take a while to build up push-ups, and I cannot do a sit up (having kids didn't do anything for my stomach muscles).

Snapshot of my cardio workout:

Summary: I had a much better time keeping up my pace this time. I rested well, and ate good foods throughout the day making sure I was hydrated. The preworkout was the same but I'm holding a plank a little longer, but only by a few seconds. My abdomen is sore, but it's the good kind where you know you're making progress. I even tried to do a sit up, but no luck there. I can only get my head off the ground. If I needed to work only my neck muscles, this would be a perfect exercise. Music really helps to distract me from thinking about what I'm doing. So I put on my favorite tunes, and kept on going. Need a pair of ear buds that will stay in my ears though. I did get a picture of beautiful sunset along the way. Noticing the beauty of nature along the way helps get through the workouts.

Exercise: Cycling, stretching

Duration/Distance: 4.28 miles in 41:57 minutes. Only some stretching before the ride.

Description: Bicycling to work different muscles

Snapshot of ride:

Summary: Today I wanted to try a little different type of cardio. So my son and I went to Woodward Park to try out the biking trail. This workout really made me feel good afterward. I was relaxed, but also felt happy. The hills were small, but I still had to push myself to uphill. I did not allow myself to get off that bike and walk!  We didn't end up doing the full ride, but maybe next time we will go the full distance or try another trail in town. We will leave earlier in the day too as it was a little too warm outside. It was nice to have someone to go with, especially my son, as he makes a great exercise partner really pushes me to keep going and not give up. I ran into a friend and her family who were out enjoying the day as well on their bikes.

Exercise: Stretching, planking, push ups, squats, wall sit, walking/jogging

Duration/Distance: 2.09 miles in 36:39 minutes, 20 minute prework out

Description: Evening workout

Always the same route (it's safer):

Summary: Today I did double duty. I had a long week at work, and simply could not squeeze in an extra work out. So I tortured myself today with two. I started out pretty strong because of the early bike ride though. I ate well and nourished my body with some good foods after the first work out, and hydrated well. I started to feel sleepy in the afternoon as I usually do after a workout. But had no time today as I had to get ready for the week, and knew I had to do at least three workouts this week. I'm glad I did though. I didn't quite make it all the way home and had my son come to pick me up at the end of the block. It's ok, today showed me what my body is capable of and that it's ok to rest when I need to. Usually I'd feel guilty for quitting, but not today. It's been a good day. My only regret is that my job is from 8:00am to 7:00pm and sometimes later if I work overtime. That gives me only three days a week to work out and if I work a 5th day like I did this week, it cuts out that time. I'm beginning to enjoy getting out more and pushing myself further.
