Exercise: Walking/Jogging, push ups, plank, stretching, wall sit
Duration and distance: 1.79 miles in 28:12 minutes. Pre-workout - 20 minutes

Snapshot of my cardio workout:

Summary: Today I pushed myself harder than I have before. I really wanted to see what I could accomplish in a half hour. I also wanted to implement a new strategy to help me start jogging. Can't run yet, but jogging is a step in the right direction. So I've decided to cut my distance, and keep my time to 30 minutes. I think I want too much too quickly, and I'm getting tired faster which leads to burnout. I also need to cut myself some slack as I worked 11 hour days all week, plus overtime on Saturday. Ahh, the life of a nurse, but I'm determined to figure this cardio thing out. I took smaller steps, and tried to control my breathing. Not sure what is going on with the lungs, whether it's asthma or that my chest just doesn't want to open up, but my breathing was rough. I kept pushing though. I'm really happy with today's stats. That's almost 2 miles in 30 minutes. Makes for a good day!

Exercise: Fast paced walking, stretching

Duration/Distance: 1.69 miles in 29.46 minutes. Stretching was the only thing I did prior to walking.

Snapshot of walk:

Summary: Today I feel a little sore and out of it. It was hard to wake up and get motivated to work out since I pushed myself really hard the day before, and worked overtime all week. I was really tired, but the one thing that motivated me is my grade in PE class. Yes, part of why I'm doing this workout thing is because of my class. The other reason is my health. I don't have to turn 56 this year and be out of shape. I don't see myself as an old woman, at least not yet. I do realize that I have limitations right though due to health and work. None of it should hold me back too much. So, I walked fast today, and didn't push myself like I did the day before. My breathing was heavy, but my steps were quick. If only my path looked like the picture above...taken in Utah earlier this year. Love being outdoors, another thing that keeps me motivated to keep pushing forward with my workouts.

Exercise: Stretching, planking, push ups, squats, wall sit

Duration/Distance: No distance, no duration

Description: Evening workout

At home tonight

Summary: No second workout tonight. Do I feel guilty? Most definitely. Do I need to rest? Again, most definitely. I can't be so hard on myself all the time though. This upcoming week, there will be no overtime at work, and I'm getting off at 5. Plenty of time to get more than a few days in of walking and jogging and the rest I need. I had also realized during the past two weeks that I don't think I'm getting enough carbs in my diet. I had been trying to go ketogenic, but it's not working for me. I need energy, and I'm not getting it going full blown keto. I'm lacking calories as well. Time to figure out how to add a few to my diet so that I can sustain my energy without gaining weight. Trying to figure out how to get my cardio into a busy schedule, and figuring out a meal plan that will work for me to help me lose weight is certainly a challenge. I'm up for it!
